Frequently Asked Questions

If your question is not answered here, get in touch so we can help you recover funds.

Surplus funds are government-held monies that come from closed accounts and other sources and that are owed to individuals, businesses and organizations.

We assure you that this is definitely real.  In some cases where it may be financially reasonable to do so, we will acquire a third-party verification of the existence of the surplus funds from an attorney.

We can’t answer for the government personnel, but sometimes people change addresses, change names due to marriage or divorce, and sometimes the recipient of the funds is deceased and his/her family is not aware that the funds exist.

We obtain your notarized approval and file the necessary forms with the state agency holding your funds.  The forms are reviewed and processed and the funds are schedule for distribution.  In some cases, it may be necessary to obtain a court order to have the surplus funds distributed.  During the entire process, there is no upfront cost to you.  We will NEVER ask you to pay anything out-of-pocket.

The timeframe from application to distribution of the funds usually takes 6 weeks to 3 months, depending on the agency holding the funds. However, we will provide you with a progress report every two to three weeks.
